The Dream: Calgary to Vancouver

This is the one that’s been on my radar for a long time. It’s the "big one" I’m currently working towards—a journey that starts in the foothills of Alberta and ends at the Pacific. It’s a mix of everything I love: wide-open landscapes, a bit of luxury on the rails, and that fresh mountain air.

The Vision

The Gateway: Calgary - The plan starts with a few days in Calgary to get a feel for the city. It’s the jumping-off point for the Rockies, and I’d love to see the mix of its western roots and modern skyline before heading into the mountains.
The Mountain Goal: Banff & Lake Louise - This is the part I’ve seen in a thousand photos and can't wait to document for myself. I’m planning for a few days in Banff to finally stand on the edge of Lake Louise and see those turquoise waters in person.
The Bucket List: The Rocky Mountaineer - The real dream is to hop on the Rocky Mountaineer. Taking that glass-domed train all the way to Vancouver is the ultimate way to see the wilderness. It’s that perfect "un-posh" luxury—sitting back with a drink, watching the mountains roll by from a seat you never want to leave.
The Coastal Finish: Vancouver - I’m aiming to wrap it all up with a few days in Vancouver. Exploring a city that’s tucked right between the mountains and the ocean feels like the perfect end to a journey across the map.
