The 'Holiday Drawer'

Despite a lifelong devotion to planning, I am, at my core, human. I have stood on foreign soil and realised a charger was left in a wall socket 3,000 miles away, or a favourite scent was sitting on a bathroom vanity at home.

The 'Holiday Drawer' was born from these small oversights. It is my fail-safe—a permanent collection of duplicates kept in a constant state of readiness. By curating the essentials once, focus remains entirely on the journey ahead, rather than the items left behind.

The Non-Negotiables

The Practicality Kit: Sunbed bands for the coastal breeze, and dedicated wet bags for that final, lingering swim before the flight home.
The Apothecary & First Aid: A pre-packed kit of wellness essentials—so the search for a pharmacy never interrupts the exploration.
The Wardrobe Essential: Compact folding hangers to ensure garments are hung immediately upon arrival.
The Digital Annex: A secondary set of cables and international adapters that never leave their place in the drawer.

Because even the most curated itinerary is improved by a dry towel and a swimsuit that didn't stay damp in the carry-on.

The Command Carry-On

I have never subscribed to the 'pack light' philosophy. The journey is far too extraordinary to be compromised by what can fit into a single overhead bin.

The Main Luggage

I prefer the peace of mind that comes with having exactly what is needed, precisely when it is needed. Main luggage should act as a curated mobile archive—a collection of pieces chosen for the destination, not the weight limit.
Packing cubes form the core architecture of our main luggage. They act as rooms within a suite, keeping clothes pristine and accessories protected. To keep family travel effortless, each member is assigned a distinct cube colour—turning unpacking on arrival into a seamless routine.

The Shared Wardrobe

While the dream is a perfectly matched set of Antler luggage — a goal for a future horizon — the reality of our current kit is a beautiful, mismatched collection. But the true architecture of our packing isn't in the exterior; it’s in the strategy.

When traveling with my daughter or family, we practice a silent insurance policy: the 'Mixed Case.' We never pack a single suitcase for a single person. Instead, we distribute our lives across every bag. If one case is delayed or goes missing, none of us are left without.
