While a Visa on Arrival is available at airport kiosks, we strongly advise securing an official e-Visa online at least 7 days before departure to seamlessly bypass the chaotic airport bank queues.

  • Flight Time: approx. 5 hours 15 mins (to Sharm El Sheikh International).

  • Climate: Subtropical Desert (Incredibly hot, dry summers / Beautifully warm, mild winters).

  • Power: Type C and Type F (the standard European two-pin plug).

  • The Detail: Your passport must be valid for a strict minimum of 6 months (180 days) from your date of arrival, and contain at least one blank page.

The Overview

Visiting in October 2022 as a solo parent, the Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort offered a mixed tapestry of expansive views and areas that left a little to be desired. While the property holds undeniable potential, navigating it successfully requires knowing exactly where to spend your time.

The Accommodation
The guest rooms themselves are delightfully spacious, offering plenty of breathing room which is a massive plus when traveling with family. However, the design language falls slightly short in the bathrooms—these spaces are heavily dated and are due for a modern, premium update to match the grandeur of the resort’s exterior.

The Culinary Experience
Dining here is predictable. The main culinary offering consists of standard, average buffet fare. While perfectly adequate for convenience, it lacks the culinary flair or outstanding local flavours that elevate a luxury holiday into something truly memorable.

The Waterfront and Pools
The Shoreline: Manage your expectations before arrival: do not expect a sweeping, powdery sandy beach here, or you will be disappointed. The coast is rugged, serving primarily as a launching pad for the marine life below.
The Infinity Pool vs. The Side Retreat: The resort's famous infinity pool looks spectacular in photographs, but in reality, it is incredibly congested. To capture a sense of tranquility, skip the main crowds and head to the smaller pool situated to the side—it offers a far more peaceful, boutique atmosphere.
Family & Amenities: For active afternoons, a separate pool features a selection of water slides, which is fantastic for entertainment. On-site, a small curation of shops provides easy convenience without the need to leave the resort grounds.
